Satellite dish service is used to deliver television channels and even internet services to domestic households without using cables.

At the time I post this article, I found two leading Satellite dish service providers; those are DISH Network and DirecTV. They all have more than 3000 channels and will grow for coming years and guess what? They share a lot of the same programming even though they compete to get customers. So, what is the best way to figure out which satellite dish service to go with? You should take the time to make the comparison to make sure that you will get the best product for the budget you set.

Now I’m trying to help you in comparing those satellite dish service providers based on their customer satisfaction, programming and equipment.

Customer Satisfaction

All references inform that both of them offer fantastic customer service and fast installation, as well. They all have excellent customer service with 24/7 toll-free telephone support and 24/7 online support. Refer to 2009 Residential Television Service Satisfaction Study, conducted by J.D. Power and Association, DirecTV and DISH Network placed the highest ranking of Satellite dish service provider in four regional segments: North CentralEastWest and South or ranked at number 2/3 for all cable, satellite and Internet protocol (IPTV) television providers. Based on American Customer Satisfaction Index , DirecTV has the highest score, followed by DISH Network for Satellite dish service provider (Satellite TV provider).

Programming

Both of the Satellite dish service offers some packages but in general DISH Network channels are offered at a lesser cost then Direct TV Channels. At the time I’m writing this post, DISH Network packages starts from $39.99/mo for 120+ channels (Classic Bronze 100 package) while DirecTV packages starts from $55.99/mo for 150+ channels (CHOICE package). Thus, DirecTV has more channels with higher price.

It depends on your budget and programming you like. You do not need to pay more if you’re satisfied with cheaper package channels. If you a sports maniac, some of their customers recommend DirecTV even though DISH Network offers the opportunity to receive regional sports programming but unfortunately can’t compete with DirecTV’s sports package whereas DISH Network offers more movie programming plans.

Equipment

Both of the satellite dish service provider offer free installation in up to four rooms of your home (for the dish and receivers), and free equipment but DirecTV will charge an additional fee If you want a DVR receiver or an HDTV receiver while DISH Network offer the receivers at no extra cost.

Conclusion

DISH Network and DirecTV has plus and minus points comparing one another. If your weighing factor is price then I recommend DISH Network channels basic packages; if your weighing factor is channel programming, here is the consideration: DirecTV, in some packages include more sports, while DISH Network has more movie packages and foreign programming. Don’t worry about customer satisfaction because they have very good customer service.
